connecting through a jumpbox

Before today I was able to connect from my desktop to all my servers. Yea!

But now a subset has been blocked. Boo!

I can ssh to one of two jumpboxes. From either I can ssh to servers I want to get to. This works, just a pain to keep tying servers and passwords each time.

I was review some of your documentation but got all confused. I tried a few things and end up with "The remote system refused the connections." Which I guess would imply that I got some things right but not enough.

Global Options
Firewall
Add gateway, Socks version 5 (no authentication), 127.0.0.1 Port 1080

Session Options
SSH2
hostname server I want to get to
Firewall, the above defined gateway
Port Forwarding
Add SSH SOCKS Proxy, Port 1080, dynamic forward

Since my connection is being refused, how can I find out what port is open for jumping through to my end server? What configuration did I miss (or mess up)?

Thanks
Eric

Hi Eric,

I would suggest using the dependent session feature.

If you already have sessions that are configured to connect to the servers, you can define the session to the jump host as the firewall and let SecureCRT handle the tunneling.

In the existing just select the Select Session... option from the Firewall: <> dropdown menu in the Connection / SSH2 category of the Session Options dialog. In the dialog that appears, you would choose the jumpbox session.

Will this work for you?
