Copy sessions with password.

Whenever I try to "clone" any existing bookmark session and change the host, I end up having to entering the password again. Is there any workaround to avoid this behaviour?

Hi Alan_Mackey,

Please clarify what you mean by "clone" any existing bookmark session.

Are you copying and pasting a session in Session Manager?

Is Use Keychain enabled in the General category of Global Options?

If so, that means the Keychain mechanism provided by the Mac OS is managing your credentials, they are not actually securely saved within the session itself, so it is outside SecureCRT's control.

The culprit was, as you predicted, OSX's Keychain. Thank you!

Hi Alan_Mackey,

Thanks for the update.

I don't know if it's possible to implement, but I have created a feature request on your behalf in our product enhancement database for SecureCRT to check for a corresponding Keychain entry for the copied session, and if the session hostname changes, SecureCRT then updates the keychain entry.

Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here. If you prefer direct email notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #12156" in the subject line.
