SSH prompt to remember username and password

Greetings!
Forever I had experienced SecureCRT prompt me to
(a) Remember username; and
(b) Remember password

For SSH connections.
For some reason this is not happening now.
I can manually set the parameters in question and thereafter username and password are duly remembered:
Options > Session Options > SSH2 > Username > (Populate and it is remembered)
Options > Session Options > SSH2 > Password > Properties > (Check Store Password, populate password fields and it is remembered)

Do the above and you log in automatically.
I dont want to do this manually for every session however.
I want to be prompted like the good old days.
I cannot fins any button in the Global Option area.
Any ideas...?

With thanks for any reply...

Hi slouw,

I'm not sure that I understand exactly what is going on in your situation. In order that we might have a better idea for our troubleshooting, could you please share with me:
  • What version of SecureCRT are you using?
  • What is your OS version?
  • Is Display logon prompts in terminal window enabled under the Connection > Logon Actions category of Session Options?
  • Is this an issue with all of your saved sessions or just when you're creating new sessions?
  • What is the full process you go through to get the username/password issue that you're seeing? Screenshots of the behavior may be of assistance here, if you can share them.

The instructions at the online How-To I've linked to below will help you understand how to add a graphic to your forum post that does not rely on any third party file sharing or photo sharing site.

Please use these instructions the next time you need to include a photo, and let us know if you run into any problems.

Hi slouw,

I'd really like to assist you, but I do need answers to the questions I previously asked. I understand what you want to see, but I don't know what your current behavior is, and I need to know where you're coming from in order to know what direction to take.

Could you please answer the questions that I previously asked so we get a good baseline?

Please especially check that Display logon prompts in terminal window option that I mentioned in my previous post.

What version of SecureCRT are you using? - 8.5.4 (x64 build 1942)
What is your OS version? - Windows 10 Enterprise Version 10.0.18363 Build 18363
Is Display logon prompts in terminal window enabled under the Connection > Logon Actions category of Session Options? - YES
Is this an issue with all of your saved sessions or just when you're creating new sessions? - With all saved sessions. I was only able to obtain the screenshots I posted below by creating a fresh emptry secureCRT configuration by changing:
Quote:
Options > Global Options > Configuration Paths > Configuration Folder
setting the Configuration Folder to an empty location.
Then I manually created a fresh session to a known host.
When I connected to this known host via the newly created session then I could see the behaviour that i am used to and that I am after. Illustrated by the screenshots.
What is the full process you go through to get the username/password issue that you're seeing? Screenshots of the behavior may be of assistance here, if you can share them.
There is no process. I just log on to existing sessions and the behaviour I want to see is absent so I cannot screenshot them.
My existing sessions are broken.
I cant find a setting to restore the behaviour I am after.

Apologies for lack of clarity earlier.
Let me know if you need any further clarification
