Python script: ImportError - Error: No module named _socket

Running SecureCRT 7.0.2
Running python script fails at import line with:
Error: No module named _socket

I see a number of very old posts discussing this issue.
Was support for _socket module ever fixed in SecureCRT?
If not, what's the best way to resolve this issue?

I have Python 2.6.5 installed in C:\Python26

Hi AndrewEK,

It's a feature request, to add native support for _socket Python module on Windows and correct, it has not been added yet.

I have also added this thread to the feature request in our product enhancement database to add native support for _socket Python module on Windows. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #12542" in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.

Hi VictorLee0321,

As mentioned in the prior post, it's a feature request and has not been implemented for Windows platform yet. I believe I already did receive an email from you and I added that contact info to the feature request also.
