AIX smitty / page up & page down issue

Hi All,

I've been using secureCRT for years now, but I've always had issues with the pageUP / pageDown buttons to actually scroll through AIX smitty lists.

I've always wondered how I could solve that. Does any of you have any idea ?

I tried mapping keys... like this :

sessions options / emulation / mapped keys
- map a key : page down
- to VT / VT_NEXT_SCREEN

but this doesn't seem to work either.

Any help would be appreciated!

I'm sorry if this was already answered, couldn't find anything about this by searching.

Thanks!

Frank.

Hi Frank,

If you configure the mapped key so that the "Function" is Scrollbar Function and the "Scrollbar Function" is SB_PAGE_UP (or SB_PAGE_DOWN), what are the results?

Hi Brenda,

Thanks for your quick reply, but unfortunately it doesn't work either.

What I'm trying to do, is to use it the same way putty does it:

When I am in a list of AIX smitty for example (longer than one page), I can scroll through it using page down / page Up, instead of having to go through one line at a time, with the up/down keys.

Now, if I hit pageup / page down, it just goes back and forth in the scrollback of my session.

Frank.

Hi Frank,

Thanks for the additional information regarding Putty. In that case, since Putty uses Xterm emulation by default, what are the results if you set the terminal emulation (Session Options / Terminal / Emulation) to Xterm?

A disconnect/reconnect may be required.

Thanks for your answer. It does work now !

Never thought of switching from VT100 to Xterm before.

Have a nice day and thanks again!
