The process exit code was "-519831548" while the expected was "0"

We have a process that uses SecureFx 4.0 to download some files from SFTP server but we have received the error: The process exit code was "-519831548" while the expected was "0"
Anyone knows about this error?

Hello,

If you don't receive error code '0' then there was a file transfer problem. You cannot depend on non-zero error codes from SFXCL as a an indication of a specific error. You'll need to check the log files to find out information about the error.

Do you have the SFXCL log file output?

You can save SFXCL information by using the /LOG command-line option. For example:
SFXCL.EXE /LOG C:\Temp\sfxcl.log ...remainder of command
Does the same problem happen consistently?

Thank you for your reply. The problem we have is that we don't manage the server and the logs are not activated. We think our problem is due to port 22 closed.

Would you be willing to send your SFXCL output to support@vandyke.com with subject "Forum 3601 attn Mike" so that I can take a look and try to help determine what the problem might be?

I can see how it would be helpful to be able to determine the error based on the return code. I've added your message to our request database so that we can consider using return codes other than '0' in a future version of SecureFX. If this is implemented then we will post a follow up message to this forum thread. Should this be added and you would like to receive e-mail notification, please let us know, and refer to forum thread number 3601 (or mention it in the e-mail message you send if you're going to send e-mail with the SFXCL output).

As of SecureFX 8.3.x SFXCL will return an exit code that falls within the following range:
  • 0 (SUCCESS)
  • 100 (Network error)
  • 200 (Source file system error)
  • 300 (Target file system error)
  • 400 (General failures)
If you would like to evaluate this new functionality you're welcome to download 8.3 or newer and give it a try.

If you have any questions or feedback related to this functionality please let us know!
