Manage agent keys not working

Hi guys,

I'm running Version 8.1.3 (build 1382) for linux.

When I try to remove keys from the manage agent keys menu it doesn't work - just wont remove the key from the list.

Which config file stores this info, seems like I need to do it manually.

Thanks,
Miki

SecureCRT shares agent operations with OpenSSH on Linux.

What happens if you try to remove the key from the agent using the following command in a local terminal shell?

ssh-add -D

Then check to see if the key remains

ssh-add -l

Are you able to remove the key using ssh-add -D?

What distribution and version of Linux are you running?

I am using Ubuntu 16.04.3 LTS

$ ssh-add -D
All identities removed.

$ ssh-add -l
2048 SHA256:erYo....john@john (RSA)

Seems like it doesn't get removed.

It seems that even OpenSSH cannot remove that key from the agent.

Are you using PGP or other utilities that might be interfering with typical agent behavior?

Do you have any smartcards plugged in/active that could be responsible for automatically making sure the key is always there in the agent?

What do you get when you run ps -eaf | grep agent ?

What do you get when you run set | grep SSH ?

Hi Miki!

It appears that you are running gpg agent. You are going to want to shut down gpg agent and start ssh agent instead.

This is not something I am familiar with in detail. The instructions would be dependent on which distribution and version of Linux you are running.

Can you provide me with your distribution and version?
