How to read, send, log multiple devices from Unix box

I am a newbie and I am looking for a script that could connect to multiple devices from a host text file and perform commands from a command text file.
I have seen some good scripts esp "ReadDataFromHostFile-SendCommandsFromCommandsFile-LogResultsToIndividualFiles.vbs" and "' JumpHost-HandleSecondaryHostConnectionAttempts.vbs"

I would appreciate if anyone good in scripting would slightly modify it for me so that it allows me to connect to these devices from a unix box, read data from host file, send commands from commands file, and finally log the result to individual files

Hello prakash,

Thanks for posting. The VanDyke Software technical support staff do not write custom scripts, but we can assist with any SecureCRT scripting questions you have.

For SecureCRT on Linux or Mac you'll need to write in the Python scripting language. The example python scripts may be a good starting point for you since most of the scripts are pretty short but do something useful. We also have a forum thread with links to other example scripts, some of which are Python.

You may want to start with a short and simple example, like sendfile.py. The MultiSessionSend.py also looks like a good starting point - it even includes the ability to read sessions from an external file.

If you connect to sessions, then you can use the built-in logging functionality for each session, so that removes the need to write any logging functions. I can provide more information about this if you decide to take this route.

Does any of this information help you get started?
