Multiple CRT windows on Mac

How can I open Multiple CRT windows on Mac?

I use to "group" my sessions in different windows. One CRT window for servers in Datacenter 1 or Production Servers, other CRT window for Datacenter 2 or Testing Servers, and so on.

I can do it on Windows but not on Mac.

Hi Tonatiuh,

This is generally a restriction put in place by Mac, it strongly prefers to only run one instance.

That being said you should be able to force a new instance via the command line. Running the below command should open a new instance of SecureCRT.

Code:
open n /Applications/SecureCRT.app
We could look at helping automate the solution via a button on the Button Bar or a script. Another option may be to use an ApplieScript as described in this link.

Does this information help?

I will try with commands that you showed.

I would have preferred that this app would show the "open new window" option, as many other Mac apps.

Thank you.

Hi Tonatiuh,

I have recorded your interest in our database of SecureCRT feature requests so that the product director can evaluate it for possible inclusion in a future release.

Should a version of SecureCRT become available with this feature, we will be sure to let you know.

If you would like to be notified directly please send an email to Support@VanDyke.com with "Feature Request Forum Post 12966" in the subject line.

Please don't hesitate to reach out if you have any trouble launching a new instance using the methods suggested below.
