Lightbulb SecureCRT 8.1 : personal data folder limitations / feature request

Hello,

We are using securecrt 8.1 within our team and use centralized sessions (500+) storage location (ms onedrive for business). It turned out that the color, syntax highlighting and other truly personal settings cannot be stored locally. Even if you manually put smth like

S:"Keyword Set"=<None>
S:"Color Scheme"=Yellow / Black

in the local session file, it's going to be moved to the session file at the shared configuration path next time you launch secureCRT

this brings some "competitiveness" within the team regarding the global/standard color & highlighting settings since you can't personalize it and the global session options is the only way to go as far as i can tell.

Please let me know if there's any workaround available or there are any plans to implement this in future releases.

thanks.

Hi oskomorokhov,

Correct, presently the personal config only maintains the sensitive data info from sessions.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for the ability to share some config information while maintaining individual personal profiles for colors, fonts, etc. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #12608" in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.
