Global next/previous tab key?
How would I create a key bind that allows me to use ALT-(left arrow) and ALT-(right arrow) to move to previous/next tab for all sessions?
Do I have to create a key bind for every session I have? Similarly, I would always want SHIFT-(page up) and SHIFT-(page down) to scroll up/down half a page for all sessions. Again, I have to create a key bind for every session? I have at least 50-60 sessions defined. Is there a way to map these keys for all sessions? |

Go to the Options menu and select Global Options. Expand the General section, select Default Session. Click the Edit Default Settings and select the Terminal->Emulation->Mapped Keys section. Click Map a Key and then enter your keybinding of choice (say, Alt-Left Arrow). Then Select Menu Function from the first pulldown, and Select Menu Tab Previous for the Menu Function. Map another key for Alt Right Arrow. Ok your way out of the dialogs and accept the warning about changing your settings for all sessions.

I actually posted something very similar to the 'Alpha' group, which enabled this functionality, however all of the Alpha posts never made it 100% into the 'Beta' group.
I set this up exactly the same way and it saves me tons of time. Another two key mappings that also work well are CTRL+Up (rename tab) and CTRL+Down (Disconnect) Enjoy :-)

Thank you for the tip idea! We used it in the newsletter.
Hello dcomo, MrC, and sanjii,
We turned your thread into a tip in the March 23 newsletter. To say thanks, I'd like to send all three of you a VanDyke T-shirt. Could you send me a private message with your size and where you'd like me to mail the shirt? Thank you for your active conversations and helping us get good information out to other software users. --Jill |
