Feature Request: Anonymous FTP support in Vshell

It would be great if Vshell supported anonymous logins for ftp/ftps.

Will Anonymous FTP support be made available in Vshell 4.5 now that beta testing is starting.

No, to my knowledge, anonymous FTP support is not one of the features planned for VShell v4.5.

Feature requests are typically prioritized based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, the number of requests and the amount of implementation work required. We have received requests for this feature, but it has not yet become a top priority for implementation.

In fact, most (but not all) new features are usually implemented prior to (or as of) beta 1. Since that is available now on our website, so is the history text (changelog). In fact, VShell v4.5 beta 2 installer will be available as of today (August 15, 2019).

I've added a note to the existing feature request indicating you are still interested in anonymous FTP support. We will post here if it should be implemented in the future.

Can I ask what the driving factor is for supporting this?

Is it just ease of user account management (not having to create user accounts)?

Sure, the main driver is that we want to replace our existing FTP server which currently supports anonymous FTP for any user to upload/download without authentication (ie. anon@here.com )

Until Vshell supports this feature, we can't roll out a replacement
