Script to prompt & kill processes in Linux

Hello,

I need a script to prompt user to hit enter and then proceed to kill some running process IDs. I can create using bash but SecureCRT does not support this script.

I was hoping someone could provide a similar template for above use case in another supported scripting language.

Hi numerouno,

If the users are connecting to that remote where your shell script resides, they can still likely execute it if you have provided appropriate permissions for that.

However, this would be a pretty simple script in VBScript or Python. We encourage all those new to SecureCRT to check out the scripting manual here. Even if you use Python instead of VBScript, this documentation shares many concepts that are common to any scripting language.

The SecureCRT scripting objects are documented in the Help topic Scripting / Script Objects Reference. You would use crt.Dialog.Prompt() to prompt a user and crt.Screen.WaitForString() and crt.Screen.Send() to interact with the remote system.
