Crash when connecting to a new session
I'm using securecrt 5.0 Beta build 749 and it keep crash after i been using it for a short period of time. Seems like it happen when i connected/disconnected from several sessions several times and then when i click on the connect button in the toolbar, select a session and press enter it crash with the error message below. I tried to reproduce the crash by starting securecrt and connected/disconnected several times to different sessions (only telnet sessions). Sometimes i just closed the tab and sometimes just typed exit to disconnect the session. After just a few minutes doing this i typed exit to disconnect a session and without closing the tab i clicked connect on the toolbar, selected the same session and pressed enter to connect and it crashed again.
Notification VNotificationSink: SecureCRT.exe - Application Error The instruction at "0x5f4039e4" referenced memory at "0xfffffff4". The memory could not be "read". I only connected using telnet, only used 3 different sessions that i connected/disconnected several times, used max 4 tabs and got the "open in a tab" checked. This happen when i use SSH sessions as well so doesn't look like it has anything to do with the protcol used. Cheers |

Using Windows XP Pro with SP2.
Didn't have this kind of problem using any previous release of SecureCRT (4.x and 3.x). Cheers |

Someone from our tech support depart will contact you with instructions for getting us a crash dump file that we can debug with. Hopefully, this will allow us to track down the problem in fairly short order. Thanks, Joseph |

If what's described in the post below is what you want me to do then just tell me where to send/upload the crash dump.

Hi,
Yep, those are the instructions on generating a crash dump file. Can you generate the file and then email it to support@vandyke.com with the subject header ATTN: Daniel? Thanks, Daniel |
