Integration CRT FX

Hello, I have just downloaded scrt-sfx-8.1.3-1382.osx_x64.dmg using it in evaluation mode on OSX 10.12.5. SecureCRT and SecureFX are not integrated. Any idea?

Thanks.

Alessandro

Hi Alessandro,

This (and a few other issues) have been attributed to Sierra's Gatekeeper Path Randomization. See forum member Blues['s?] post here for a solution.

xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SecureCRT.app/

doesn't seem fixing the issue.

Is it correct that the configuration folder is different in the two applications?

The default configuration folder location is the same if you have used the integrated installer. (This may also be the cause of the original issue.) However, that is user-customizable.

Did you install SecureCRT/SecureFX using the integrated installer?

I downloaded scrt-sfx-8.1.3-1382.osx_x64.dmg. No installer in it. Just the two apps. I have only dropped them in the App folder.

Hi Alessandro,

Let's go back to your first post:

What does not integrated mean to you?

Failing to share the config?
  • If so, what are the configuration folder locations for each in the General / Configuration Paths category of Global Options?

Or the ability to launch one application from the other?
  • If so, are you saying the icon of SecureFX does not appear on SecureCRT's toolbar (and vice-versa)?

The sessions are not shared and no way to open securefx from securecrt. I'm a long time user of crt+fx on windows so I expect to have the same user experience.

Hi Alessandro,

Is the OS Sierra?

If so, as I mentioned in my first response, we have had a few customers report various issues of SecureCRT/SecureFX integration on Sierra:
  • Two SecureCRT icons in Dock or not shown at all
  • No SecureFX icon on SecureCRT toolbar
  • Cannot configure both a file transfer and terminal protocol in sessions
And in 100% of those cases, the solution has been the one given by Blues in the other forum post.

Did you get an error when you executed this command?
xattr -dr com.apple.quarantine /Applications/SecureCRT.app/
Please try running the command again.
