Window size & rows/columns

I have a number of sessions where I've ended up with it using only half the window. I'll do an LS and get 30 lines on screen and then it scrolls off when there's room for another 30 lines below the prompt.

What I want is for a window resize to change the number of rows/columns so that it always uses the full window without changing the font size.

Please point me at the relevant bits of the manual.

Thanks

Hi Awfki,

What are the configured Logical rows in these sessions? (Terminal / Emulation category of Session Options)

What is the On resize configuration (same category)?

Synchronize view to size is the default configuration. With Synchronize view to size the rows/columns change to match the geometry of the session window. So if you resize the window, the rows/columns increase or decrease in sync with that, which sounds like what you want.

You can find info on the three On resize options in the topic Dialogs / Session Options Dialog / Terminal / Terminal/Emulation in SecureCRT's included Help file.

Mostly 30 & 100. And 30 lines is about what it was stuck at.

That did it! Was set to "Retain size and font". I changed to "Synchronize" and it's doing what I want. These are sessions that were copied from someone else.

Hi Awfki,

Thanks for posting an update.

You can make that change to all or many sessions using the appropriate tip.

Note:
In order for a "change" to be applied to all other sessions, the Default session's option/field you're targeting must actually be modified/different from its current value. This means that if the targeted field you want to apply to all other sessions is *already* set to the value you want, you must first change it to something *different* (and apply that "change") and then edit the Default session again to set the option to its *desired* value (and apply that "change").
