How to use the Terminal CMD-K to clear console

Hi,

I heavily use CMD-K key shortcut to fully clear my console. It does work in Terminal or iTerm2. However CMD-K is already taken by SecureCRT for QuickConnect.

I'm fine by changing the combination from CMD-K to any other unused one, but I have no idea about which Octal codes should be sent to the terminal to perform the action.

Any idea?

Thanks

Hi ccasares,

You can map menu functions to a hotkey in SecureCRT.
  • Go to Terminal / Emulation / Mapped Keys category of Session Options
  • Choose Map a Key...
  • Press desired key combo
  • Under Function choose Menu Function from the dropdown
  • Under Menu Function choose MENU_CLEAR_SCREEN
There's also a MENU_CLEAR_SCROLLBACK and a MENU_CLEAR_SCREEN_AND_SCROLLBACK available.

You can make this change to all sessions via Default Session mechanism.

Here's also a video about Default Session.
