Login actions

Hello,

I could not find what I needed in a search. What is the location that login actions are being saved? I have a number of servers, (few hundred) that I need to make my login actions more generic so I can share my sessions with my coworkers, so instead of editing each session I want to do a find/replace with notepadd++ or something similar. Is there a file that I can edit so I can do this? I did not find them in the ini files. I am using version 7.1.2.

Thanks,

Keith Olmstead

Hello Keith,

Are you talking about configuration in the Connection/Logon Actions category in SecureCRT's Session Options?

If so, this data is encoded in the session .ini file so it would not be editable via a text editor.

Additionally, you can't currently edit just a substring since the *entire string* (all Expect/Send lines) are stored as one encoded string.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database for the ability to change single item in Logon Actions when making changes to all sessions. Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #11189" in the subject line.

Hello Keith,

That was posted in January of this year.

It is now available (since v7.0), but I am not sure how it relates to your earlier inquiry.

Changes in SecureCRT 7.1 (Beta 1) -- February 26, 2013
------------------------------------------------------
New features:
  • Added support for dependent sessions so that a connection can be made to a jump host or SSH gateway before the session is connected.

I was reviewing this thread and there's a new feature in SecureCRT 7.2 that makes it easier to share sessions with colleagues without sharing personal data such as passwords. The new option is called "Personal data folder" and is found in the Global Options dialog in the General/Configuration Paths category.

SecureCRT 7.2 can be downloaded here:
