Session Logon Script from File
Good afternoon,
Thanks for all the support, I was able to import my 1200+ hostnames into the application. but now have a question regarding logon scripts. So I created the Import Script for the sessions using hostname, sessionname etc. My issue is, my Session Names are unique, but Hostname is all the same. I use a secure element to login to then can normally move around by hostname or management IP to login to elements. I created a test file that does a logon script. That when I connect to the session, it enters a numeric value on the screen then enters the Private IP for the Management interface. I have all this information in a Excel file, but not sure if I can create a script that will automate this task, or have it lookup my excel file based on Session Name and look for the Management IP in the Cells of Excel. Thank you |

Hi King908,
I am not sure what your goal is. Please elaborate, focusing only on the objective you wish to accomplish. Our Excel script examples are here. You may find the answer there.

I have 1200 Sessions in my Session List.
Each of the 1200 all login to the same service. This service them lets me pick what network element I want to login to. I created a script that Goes to the option of allowing me to enter the Element by IP Address. Then the script enters the IP. Now I have to basically repeat this script 1200 times each with the Element IP Address for the particular element choice. 1200 of them. Each of the 1200 sessions are by the Hostname separated by State and City. So here is my ask: I have a Master Excel file that has the 1200 Hostnames and the IP Addresses of the Element IP Address. I want to figure out a way to create a script to look at the Session Hostname in SecureCRT, and lookup the IP Address in the Excel File next to the Hostname in the Excel file, then run the script that I am doing above. So either a script that allows me to do the lookup based on the Session Name chosen in SecureCRT Sessions list, OR. a Script to help me automate the task of creating 1200 scripts based on the Hostname and IP address. Thank you |

Hi King908,
The Excel Spreadsheets - Searching And Lookups example script in the link I provided in my previous post would seem to be just what you need. Did you take a look at it? Are you using SecureCRT on Windows?
