Smile Wildcard possible in WaitForString

In using WaitForString("foo-bar-switchXXYY#") is it possible to wildcard the items like you can in *nix via VBscript, so it looks
like this:

WaitForString("foo-bar-switch????#") or ("foo-bar-switch*#") for pattern matching purposes, I know I can get this done with WaitForStrings, but it seems a bit tedious?

Any suggestions?

Hi dogbert20,

Sorry, it's not available presently.

I have added this thread to a feature request in our product enhancement database to add regular expression (wildcard) support to scripting (i.e. in WaitForString & WaitForStrings, regex). Should a future release of SecureCRT include this feature, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct email notification, send an email to support@vandyke.com and include Feature Request - Forum Thread #14200 in the subject line or use this form from the support page of our website.
