I can't speak for Microsoft, but the way VShell makes use of KPT has not changed.

What sort of issues are you experiencing?
What version of VShell is installed?
Has the machine on which VShell is installed been restarted since VShell was installed? (This is required since the LSA Module is responsible for public-key authentication and it loads at boot time.)
The best way to troubleshoot this is to get a VShell debug log. Since this can contain sensitive data, please attach it to an email to
support@vandyke.com and include
"Attn Brenda - Forum Thread #11673" in the subject line.
If debug is not presently enabled, it can be enabled in the
Common / Logging category of VShell's control panel.
