Full stop acting as word delimiter without being selected

I have chosen to use the manual word delimiter characters as I needed to be able to change to make double-click selection easier. However, even though full stop/period (UK/US!) is not present in my selections, when I double click an IP address it only grabs to octet I have clicked on, not the whole thing.

Have I found a bug?

Hi Tom,

It is hard to say.

What is the version of SecureCRT that you are using?

What is the operating system that you are using?

I'm using 7.3.1 on Windows 7.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the information. I ran a test using [space] and : as delimiters, and I am able to select a complete IP address using a double-click.

What delimiter list are you using?

My delimiter list is based on your "Putty" list (taken from, with a dash and underscore added on the end:

` ~!@#$%^&*()+=:;>,\[]{}|'-_

I just worked this out. It was behaving perfectly normally, only that the change I made to the default session hadn't copied the delimiter list to the session I most often use. It had enabled it, but not copied the string. All other sessions had this in place.

I had no idea that this was even an option. You have just made my life to much better. Being able to double-click and select the entire IP is so very nice.

Hi Tom,

Thanks for the follow-up. I am glad to hear that this is solved.

And as is the hope, it has already helped someone else.

If you have any other nagging things you would like to do, but don't think you can, let us know. We might have another option we can bring to light.

Casey, smallcheese, others who might be interested...

If you're ever in a situation where you need to temporarily switch between different word delimiter character sets, there is an example script for "Word Delimiter Rotation" in our script examples "sticky" that you can map to a button on the button bar to quickly switch between pre-defined word delimiter sets.
