Remote socks port forwarding

Hello

I discovered recently an interesting feature of openssh 7.6 :
https://www.openssh.com/txt/release-7.6
_____
New Features
------------
ssh(1): add support for reverse dynamic forwarding. In this mode,
ssh will act as a SOCKS4/5 proxy and forward connections
to destinations requested by the remote SOCKS client. This mode
is requested using extended syntax for the -R and RemoteForward
options and, because it is implemented solely at the client,
does not require the server be updated to be supported.
_____

So basically it is the "reversed" command as Dynamic forwarding using SOCKS4 or 5...

On command line instead of -D8080 to get a socks proxy to the SSH server, now since openssh 7.6 -R8080 do the opposite, so opening a SOCKS proxy on server side to send traffic via the client.

It is very helpful to be able to patch a machine in a secured zone which has no Internet access for instance.

Is there a way to do the same with SecureCRT ? I was searching for this in SecureCRT 8.5.3 but I did not find where to configure this.

Regards
Raphael

Not yet. Dynamic forwarding is currently limited to local listening forwarded ports in SecureCRT. I've added a feature request for dynamic remote/reverse forwarding functionality.

There isn't any ETA for when (or if) this might be implemented, but we'll post here if something ever becomes available. If you want direct email notification, or should other forum users wish to chime in with their expression of interest in this functionality within SecureCRT, please send email...
