New feature - session tags

Hi,

I do a lot of connections to devices of the same type - Cisco ASA's or Cisco ISR's. At the moment I'm having to select every device in my session list to connect. Is it possible to add tags to each session in such a way that I could search for all sessions with the following tags:
MyClientName ASA

It would then select all sessions and I could decide to either connect to all of them, change properties, etc.

If it could also have an option for "recently used tags/combination of tags" for easier selection as well as extending this feature to the command (chat) window so that commands only get sent to devices with the appropriate tags (if connected).

Let me know if you have any other questions.

Thanks!
Nolan

Hello Nolan,

This seems to be a trendy feature request lately. :-)

Since there are several existing feature requests that are variations of the same theme, I have added this thread to the following feature requests in our product enhancement database:
  • Add search tags field to Session Options
  • Add filtering search to the Connect dialog/Session Manager
  • New searching functionality that would take advantage of tags (recently used, compound search)
Should a future release of SecureCRT include any of these features, notification will be posted here.

If you prefer direct e-mail notification, contact support@vandyke.com and include "Feature Request - Forum Thread #11428" in the subject line.

In the meantime, if you were not aware, the Description field is currently available as a search criteria in the existing Find functionality provided by the Connect dialog/Session Manager.

The Description field is in the Connection category of SecureCRT's Session Options.

Just wondering, can't this be done via (session) groups?
