Cisco TX/RX files

Hi all,
I'm using secureCRT a long time and love it.

I also have SecureFX.

Some of my daily tasks are to backup cisco config files to my desktop computer before making changes to the devices.

Normally I do this via the CLI and using a TFTP server.

We've now disabled TFTP for security reasons and have been told to use SCP.

I was wondering how can I use the SCP feature in secureFX in conjunction with the cisco CLI & secureFX to achieve this;

Cisco cli command:

switch1(config)#ip scp server enable

switch1#copy running-config scp:
Address or name of remote host []? 10.26.179.219
Destination username [switch1]?
Destination filename [switch1-confg]?

Any ideas?

Thanks,

Paul

Hi Paul,

SecureFX is a secure file transfer application that uses the familiar drag and drop behavior to transfer files.

In SecureFX, you can choose Quick Connect from the File menu or toolbar. This will display a dialog where you can enter the IP address of the remote device and your username. You will also want to change the protocol from the default SFTP to SCP where indicated.

This will create a session (named by the IP address), you can later access in the Connect dialog. The only other configuration option I think you might need to make (via Session Options) is to set the remote operating system to Cisco IOS/Juniper in the File Transfer / FTP/SFTP category.

Using the above info, can you make a session to the device and connect successfully?
