Auto logging to a file

1 Attachment(s)
I've configured my securecrt to save session in a file like below:

https://forums.vandyke.com/attachmen...achmentid=1786

But whenever I connect...it prompts me file name.

I don't want to prompt for file name. I want to make file like the above screenshot.

Pls help.

Hi nbanik,

The attachment failed to attach (probably due to your moderation status).

What version of SecureCRT are you using?

On what OS/platform?

Please send the screenshot to support@vandyke.com and attach the screenshot to that email (and answer above questions). Please include Attn Brenda - Forum Thread #14015 in the subject line.

Hi nbanik,

I could see screenshot after all.

Is that a valid path (C:\software\Secure_CRT_Logs\)?

nbanik 12-19-2019 10:49 AM

Yes. Valid. It prompts for file name. If i give file name....it saves that location. I want to save logging without promting file name. My version is 8.3.

Hi nbanik,

Please post screenshots of the prompt and also the filesystem where the logs are being written.

I figured it out.
It was a silly mistake.
It was
Y%-%M-%D-%h-%m-%s-->
It should be
%Y-%M-%D-%h-%m-%s-->

% should be before Y. I placed it after Y.

Anyway it worked. I'm happy.
But securecrt should give an exception for such error.

Hi nbanik,

Nice catch, that part was not shown in your screenshot unfortunately.

How could it do that? Y is a valid character for a filename as is %. In context you and I know it was a transposition in this case but maybe someone wants to use Y% as part of the filename. :)
